Privacy Policy for SentiriPDF for Business
In short: When your company buys SentiriPDF for Business, Polar handles the payment and passes the buyer's details to us so we can provide the license, invoices and support. The app itself sends only its license key, to check that the license is valid. Your documents never leave your PC.
Who we are
Sentiri AS, Norway, is the controller for the personal data described here. This policy covers SentiriPDF for Business. SentiriPDF Personal and the website sentiri.as are covered by our main privacy policy. Questions: post@sentiri.as.
Buying through Polar
SentiriPDF for Business is sold through Polar, which acts as the seller (merchant of record). Polar takes the payment, issues the invoice, handles VAT and runs the customer portal where you find your license key. Polar processes this under the Polar Privacy Policy. Sentiri never receives card or bank details.
Polar shares with us the details given at checkout and the subscription itself: the buyer's name and email address, the company name, billing address and VAT number, the number of users, the subscription's status and the license key. We use them only to:
- provide and check your license,
- answer support questions and tell you about your subscription,
- keep the records that accounting law requires.
The legal basis is our contract with your company, and our legal duty to keep accounting records. We do not use the details for marketing and never sell or share them.
The license check in the app
- What is sent. SentiriPDF for Business sends its license key to Sentiri's license service, which asks Polar whether the license is still valid and answers with a signed confirmation. The app then checks that confirmation on the PC itself.
- How often. At most once a day, and only when the last confirmation is more than a week old.
- What is never sent. Documents, file names, the contents of anything you open, usage statistics or crash reports.
- What is kept. The license service stores nothing. It runs on Cloudflare, which like any web host may briefly keep technical logs, such as the IP address of the request, to operate and protect the service.
- Without a network. Companies that cannot allow the check can get a long-lasting confirmation from us instead. The app then never goes online for its license.
Everything else in the app
Apart from the license check, SentiriPDF for Business works like SentiriPDF Personal: no accounts, no telemetry, no tracking. Documents are processed only on your PC, settings stay on your PC, pictures for a web page you convert are downloaded only after you allow it, and an email you send goes through the email program on your PC. Who else handles the data
- Polar: payments, invoices, VAT, the customer portal and license keys.
- Cloudflare: runs the license service and this website.
Both may process data outside the EEA, under the safeguards described in their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
We keep the buyer's details while the subscription runs. After it ends, we keep them only as long as accounting law requires, and then delete them. Email you send us is kept only as long as we need it to help you.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and delete personal data about you, to object to its use and to get a copy of it. Write to post@sentiri.as. Some details we must keep for accounting even if you ask us to delete them. You may also complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
